Ways to Volunteer

"Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve… You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love…"
– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

One of the enriching experiences for Durham Nativity students is their active participation in community service. This valuable engagement instills in them the significance of selflessness and aiding others. Similarly, our volunteers play an integral role at Durham Nativity School, exemplifying the values we strive to instill in our students - character development through service and making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  1. After-School Tutors: Assisting students with homework and providing additional support in challenging subjects.

  2. Reading Circles: Participating in reading sessions with students to reinforce their comprehension and love for literature.

  3. Library Helpers: Supporting the maintenance of our book collection through tasks such as inventory coding and shelf restocking.

  4. Community Service: Collaborating with students in various community service initiatives.

  5. Arts Enrichment: Aiding in the facilitation of our arts programs.

  6. Sports: Assisting with coaching for team sports and physical education activities.

  7. Spanish Interpreters and Translators: Providing language support for our diverse community.
