Biography
Ms. Alrefae's journey as an educator began eighteen years ago as a public school math and science teacher at MS 50 in NYC. Since then, she has worked in five different states and two countries at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School (NY), Wilbraham & Monson Academy (MA), GEMS American Academy (Qatar), King Abdullah Academy (VA), King’s Academy (Jordan), Orlando Science School (FL), and Windermere Preparatory School (FL). Her commitment to eliminating educational barriers for students, middle school college-preparatory education, and building connections with the community are common themes at every school. Ms. Alrefae graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and holds two Master's degrees and graduate certificates from Pace, Walden University, and Liverpool Hope (UK). A lifelong learner, she is currently completing a dual graduate certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Ms. Alrefae and her spouse, Hasan, are parents to three children: Layla, Yasmine, and Zidane. They enjoy traveling to new places, hiking, running 5K races, and watching sports, especially soccer.
